In Spring 2004, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences implemented Year End Exams in the first, second and third professional years of the curriculum. These exams represent content from required courses that is crucial to carry forward to the next professional year. These exams are a progression requirement for movement to the next professional year.
The exams serve several purposes:
- To assess learning and retention of content by our students.
- To assess preparedness for the next academic year.
- To develop a culture of self-assessment among our students.
All students will develop a plan for self-directed review based on their exam results. We encourage all student to pursue their self-directed reviews, prior to the start of the next academic year.
If a student does not pass the exam, procedures are in place to assist the student in pursuing self-directed review of areas of deficiency and demonstrating competency in these areas.
