Sample Plan for Self-directed Review (P3 Student)
In PHA 550 Musculoskeletal Disorders, I demonstrated competency within all three sections (A&P musculoskeletal, Osteoarthritis & gout, and Rheumatoid & osteoarthritis).
In PHA551 Endocrine Disorders , I demonstrated competency within the sections titled diabetes mellitus and female reproduction. I have missed a question in the section titled adrenal gland. Specifically, I need to review the pathophysiology of the adrenal gland. I also missed a question in the section titled thyroid disease. Specifically, I need to review the pharmacotherapy of thyroid disease.
In PHA552 Gastrointestinal Disorders, I demonstrated competency in the section titled accessory organs d; however I have missed questions in the other two sections. In the section titled GI tract, I need to review nutrition, vitamins and minerals. In the section titled lower GI tract disorders, I missed three questions indicating I need to review liver disease, liver transplantation and pancreatitis.
In PHA 553 Pulmonary Disorders, I demonstrated competency in two sections (pulmonary disease signs & agents and A& P and Pathophysiology). In the section titled pharmacotherapy of respiratory disorders I missed two questions both dealing with the pharmacotherapy of asthma, indicating I need to review this area.
In PHA554 Infectious Diseases I, I demonstrated competency in all four sections. These were titled, Principles of Microbiology, General Concepts and Antimicrobial Therapy, Upper Respiratory Infections and Respiratory Tract Infections..
IN PHA 555 Infectious Diseases II, I demonstrated competency in the sections titled “skin and soft tissue, surgical prophylaxis, bone and joint, HIV,” “STD, community acquired pneumonia, pharmacokinetics, immunizations.” In the section titled “genitourinary, fungal, catheter-related infections, bioterrorism, I need to review bioterrorism therapeutics.
In PHA556 Integument and Special Senses, I need to do some review in all three sections. In the section titled general principles of dermatology I missed questions on tetanus immunization and topical steroid preps. In the section titled pharmacotherapy of dermatological conditions, I need to review decubitis ulcers. In the section titled diseases of the eye, I need to review complementary and alternative treatments.
In PHA 575 Patient Care V, within the section titled physical assessment, I need to review inhalation therapies. Within the section titled practice development, I need to review home test kits. Within the section titled calculations, I need to review dilution and concentration.
In PHA 576 Patient Care VI, I demonstrated competency in the section titled professional development and calculations. In the section titled physical assessment, I need to review immunizations.
I intend to consult my respective course notes and course texts in order to conduct this review.
