Sample Plan for Self-directed Review (P1 Student)
The results of my year end exam reveal that within PHA 306 (Introduction to Pharmacy I) I have demonstrated competency in both sections (titled practice and drugs). Within PHA 307 (Introduction to Pharmacy II), I have demonstrated competency in both sections (titled managed care and home health care).
In PHA 302 (Biostatistics, Research Design, Literature Evaluation), I have missed questions within each of the two course sections as follows: Within the section titled biostatistics, I need to review t-tests. Within the section titled research design I need to review types of variables. I intend to go back to my notes and handouts for this review. I also intend to listen to the applicable presentations that were made available on the course CD-ROM .
In PHA 303 (Communication Skills for Pharmacists), I demonstrated competency within the sections titled verbal skills and the medication history interview. I have missed questions within the section titled patient counseling. I need to review the prime questions for the new prescription and the OBRA 90 legislation. I intend to listen to the applicable presentations on the course CD-ROM and review my notes.
In PHA 305 (Pharmacy Management), I demonstrated competency within the sections of accounting, and financial analysis. I have missed questions within the section titled human resource management. I need to review antidiscrimination law. I intend to listen to the applicable presentations on the course CD-ROM and review my notes.
In PHA 320 (Biochemistry) , I demonstrated competency within the sections titled introduction to biochemicals, general properties of enzymes, vitamins & coenzymes, and metabolism/energy utilization. I have missed questions within the section titled molecular biology. I need to review nucleic acids. I intend to review my notes and the appropriate chapter within the course text.
In PHA 322 (Anatomy / Physiology), I demonstrated competency within the sections titled cell physiology & histology, and physiology. I have missed a question in the section titled anatomy & medical terminology. I need to review excretion. I intend to review my notes and consult the course text.
In PHA 325 (Principles of Pharmaceutical Sciences) , I demonstrated competency in the section titled chemical kinetics. I have missed a question in the section titled properties of matter & energy. I need to review thermodynamics. In the section titled disperse systems I missed a question. I need to review ph and buffers. I intend do go back to my lecture notes to do this review.
In PHA 371 (Patient Care I), I have demonstrated competency in both sections (titled pharmacy preparedness and pharmacy practice).
In PHA 372 (Patient Care II), I have demonstrated competency in both sections (titled pharmacy preparedness and pharmacy practice).
